Gateway Arch Museum
Custom Service Crane, Inc. performed a comprehensive rigging projects for the Museum at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO. The new museum's gallery, called New Frontiers, features three over-sized, fragile glass panels that present film clips on western expansion in the United States. These panels required highly specialized rigging, including a customized steel cart to maneuver them through tight spaces. In preparation of all our jobs, our Estimators work with customers to assess the exact needs and unique constraints for their project. Custom Service Crane offers free Job Site Evaluations where needed. Our most complex jobs will also provide a lift plan, complete with any necessary rigging plans, details on certifications, and outline of safety materials, notes on job meetings, and a diagram of the job if required. No job is the same and our years of experience have prepared us to offer the custom service that is in our name!

The specially constructed cart was made to maneuver the screens through a 10' wide door and 7' wide hallway.
The CSC team pulls (and pushes) together! Two forklifts are rigged on both sides of the heavy cart to transport it down the narrow hallway.
A trial run through the most narrow hall with cart proved we'll make it by just a couple of inches!
Narrow but not impossible; obstacles are merely opportunities to get creative for CSC's innovative team!
Not much room to spare - the projection screens measure nearly the full cross-angle dimension of the hallway at 10'.
The projection screens have made into the exhibit hall! CSC uses an electric mini crane to hoist the first screen into place.
